Lazada | How to Get a Refund for Damaged/Missing Items

Not all finds are great.

Some of them are fails.

Some you might not ever see.

When you experience any of this, don't get discouraged from buying online.

Reviews and seller's ratings could tell you a lot.

I know I have been sharing my good experiences with Lazada.

But what about the bad ones?

I can't say it was totally bad because the sellers I did my transactions with were very accommodating.

Let me share with you the process I've gone through with the following situations:

1. I received a defective item

2. I did not receive the item at all


I. Defective item

It really is important to open the package the sooner you can.

If I'm not mistaken, Lazada only has a 7-day return policy upon delivery of your order.

Therefore, test it as soon as you can to give you enough time to return it just in case you have received a defective item.

In my case, it was a portable foldable washing machine that was defective.

Early this year, I think around February, nagkaproblema yung washing machine namin.

Bigla na lang hindi gumana.

And while waiting na mapuntahan ng service repairman, I decided to buy a portable foldable washing machine sa Lazada pansamantala.

Excited pa man din ako pagkadeliver ng March 3, pero hindi ko nagamit kaagad dahil working day.

Na-test ko na lang pagdating ng weekend, March 6, at nakita kong tumutulo siya sa ilalim.

As in pagkalagay ko pa lang ng tubig, wala pa akong ino-on, tumutulo na.

Kinunan ko ng photo at video (although photo lang pala ang pwedeng i-send sa Lazada chat) para may maipakita ako sa seller.

Chinat ko muna siya about sa issue.

Madali naman siyang kausap.

Pinag-request na lang ako ng return/refund at inaccept din niya agad yung request ko.

Then I have 9 days to select the shipment method.


Since LBC ang pinakamalapit sa amin, yun ang option ko.


Please do note na kapag nakapagselect na kayo ng shipment method, you only have 3 days para mai-drop off sa pinili niyong location yung item na irereturn niyo.



March 7 nang piliin ko yung LBC so I have until March 10 para maidrop off yung item.

Don’t forget na magtake ng screenshot nung barcode na makikita sa Lazada dahil ii-scan iyan ng LBC.


Naipadala ko kaagad ng March 8 at naideliver sa seller ng March 9.

As per the notification, ipo-process daw ng seller yung request within 4 days.


Minessage ko na rin si seller para sigurado.


Hindi na siya nagreply, pero na-refund naman sa account ko yung bayad ng March 12.

In summary, kung magrerefund ng bayad para sa defective item, gawin mo ang mga ito:

1. I-chat muna si seller about sa issue. May pagkakataon na iga-guide ka muna ng basic troubleshooting kung common yung problem, pero kapag alam niyang defective talaga, irerefund na lang niya. Basta ang importante makapag-usap muna kayo para kung magrequest refund ka man, iaaccept niya dahil may usapan na kayo.

2. Kapag in-accept na niya yung return request mo, make sure na makapagselect ka ng shipment method within 9 days or else mako-close lang yung request mo.

3. Kapag nakapili ka na ng shipment method mo, make sure na mai-drop off mo doon yung item within 3 days.

4. Pagkadrop off, i-monitor mo yung shipment para maabisuhan mo si seller kapag naideliver na. This is just an extra step to ensure na hindi ma-ooverlook yung nireturn mong item.

5. Wait for the refund na magreflect sa account mo within 4 days.

That’s it!


II. Missing item

Eh paano naman kapag missing item?

Paano ka makakapag-return/refund request kung wala kang maisasauli sa seller?

The step is pretty straightforward.

1. Chat the seller about the missing item.

2. S/he will ask you to request for a return/refund.

3. The money will reflect into your account shortly after it has been accepted.

Ang nangyari naman sa akin dito ay yung binili kong cleaning brush.

Kasabay kasi yun ng washing machine stand na binili ko, pero nung nadeliver yung package, medyo kinutuban na ako dahil mukhang box lang nung stand ang nakapa ko.

True enough nung binuksan ko, wala sa loob yung brush.

Kaya chinat ko si seller tungkol doon.






Fortunately madali ring kausap ang seller na ito.

Pinag-request na lang din ako ng return/refund.

Nasa option ng request yung “Missing item”, so I just chose that.

And that’s it!



The funds should reflect into your account shortly after the seller has approved it.

Dahil kailangan ko talaga nung cleaning brush, umorder na lang ulit ako sa kanya, at sa wakas, naideliver din at sobrang gamit na gamit. 😊
