III. Wedding Ceremony: St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows, Marikina City

Next that we've booked was the church.

Originally, we considered Monasterio de Santa Clara in Katipunan and National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in Manila.

These two (2) are close to my heart and I visit every month before the pandemic hit.

But St. Clare does not conduct wedding rites as what was said to us when we inquired, and St. Jude is too far for us.

So both were ticked off the list.

St. Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows was one of the churches we visited in February 2022 when we were inquiring about each churches’ rates and packages.

There were lots of beautiful churches we visited in Marikina and Antipolo, but what made us choose St. Gabriel was their rate and also its distance from Miguel & Maria - Gil Fernando which was the reception we’re considering.

We paid Php 10,500 which included the church, priest and simple flower arrangement, actually all the basic stuff for a church wedding.

Php 3,000 of this was paid in advance as a reservation fee to block the wedding date, and then the remaining was few days before the wedding.

There will also be usherettes during the wedding who will guide everyone and keep everything in place as they said, so we decided to not get a coordinator.

Just make sure though that you have prepared all the things needed beforehand dahil nandiyan lang sila to assist, not to provide.

Sa memory ko, ang kulang lang nung wedding which I’m glad I asked was the match which hubby and friends bought on their way to the church.

We bought the 2 candles from the church for Php 100, and ipinatago na lang namin sa kanila para i-prepare na lang nila for our wedding.

The veil, cord, rings, etc., iniabot ko na lang sa aking friends/bridesmaids para ibigay na rin sa usherettes on the day itself.

Medyo naaligaga nga lang sila sa pagbibigay ng buttonairres and corsages sa mga ninongs and ninangs dahil mag-uumpisa na ang ceremony nung makarating sila sa church.

Strict din sila sa oras, so if you ever consider having your wedding at St. Gabriel, everyone should be aware of their time and schedule.

This is the agreement we signed with them:

As scheduled nga talaga sila, and after ng wedding rites, talagang nagligpit na sila after the alloted minutes for pictorial. 😆

But nonetheless, our overall experience with them was good.

From the preparation of church requirements (you can check the post here) to the wedding itself.

Naka-ready rin ang mga usherettes kung may walang partner.

It happened to us, and nakita ko na lang sa picture dahil hindi namin nahalata. 😅

I'm so sorry, ninong! Di bale, guwapo ka pa rin po lalo na sa ngiti mo.

But at least very attentive sila.

Muntik na akong magmarch na ready na for "you may kiss the bride". 😘😆

At least hindi halata sa photo diba?

This was the set up in our wedding.
