I won't beat around the bush.
I got my screen replaced at Samsung Service Center Dagupan and that's what solved the problem.
How much?
Php 16,450.
That includes everything: the screen & the labor.
Yes, that is expensive.
But I realized why after I got my phone back.
Dude, the sides of the phone were part of the replacement.
It was almost half of the phone.

This was the old screen that was replaced. |
So how did it come to this?
Around May 2024, I got a softwate update notification.
I am that type of a person who religiously updates her gadgets (phone, laptop, etc.) whenever I get notified.
And so I did as I normally would at the time.
It was at night.
After the update and reboot, I got an error message about an app.
I'm not sure which one that was, I think it was the CLiQQ app.
I barely had a glance of it because my reflex had automatically tapped on 'Cancel'.
Then a thin line had appeared in the middle.
It wasn't that big of a deal for me since it's not that annoyingly visible.
But I searched through the net anyway and found out that I'm not the only one.
It seemed that it was a common issue after the software update that Samsung had a free screen replacement for the whole month of April 2024.
Too bad I updated mine in May!
In between May 2024 and Jan 2025, I did everything I had researched about troubleshooting and had also messaged Samsung Support via the Samsung Members app and did as advised, but nothing worked.
I hoped every software update that it would fix the lines, but it worsened as the time goes by.
By August 2024, there are 2 lines already.

A pink line in the middle and whitish green on the left. |
I also installed an app like Dead Pixels Test and Fix. Didn't work.
I dialed *#0*# and patiently tapped through Red, Green, and Blue repeatedly. Didn't work.
I entered Safe Mode, but the lines are still there.
My last resort was to factory reset. But this, my friend, also didn't work.
My phone's screen already had 4 lines by the start of 2025, and it was a mix of white, green, and pink.
It was slowly turning into Netflix's intro.
I already inquired at Samsung Service Center Dagupan in December about the cost, and had thought it through so much until I made a decision in January.
Jan. 4, Saturday, my hubby accompanied me to the Service Center and I paid a downpayment of P3,000 via GCash.
The new screen will be delivered to them by approximately 1 week, and I opted not to leave my phone there because, hello? They won't be able to fix it yet anyway, so why? 😅
The delivery got delayed.
Jan. 13, Monday, they called me that the screen has been delivered.
I scheduled to come by Saturday, Jan. 18, but they called me by Friday that the technician suddenly went on a holiday and will be back on Monday.
Since it already got delayed by 2 weeks, I agreed to come by Monday, Jan. 20.
We arrived there in the afternoon, and got told that I should have arrived in the morning so that I'll be able to get it by afternoon.
They told me I can leave my phone there and come and get it the next day, but I don't want to leave my phone overnight, and I would have to take half of the day off for that because it's a 1.5 hrs drive from home, plus 1.5 hrs again going back.
So I told them I'll come back on Saturday.
Finally, it was fixed on Saturday, Jan. 25.
I left my phone past 11:00AM and we got notified that it's finished past 4:40PM.
I get to inspect my phone first before I signed the papers and paid the balance.
Just a point to note, I switched my phone to Maintenance Mode before I handed it for repair.
That way, all my data are hidden and they will only be able to see the pre-installed apps, like they were opening the phone for the first time.
After I got my phone back, I simply toggled it off which required my fingerprint, then it restarted as usual.
Another one to note, I took screenshots of my phone's information.
I've taken these by going to Settings > About phone, and clicked through each information and took a screenshot.
And after I got my phone back, I went again to Settings > About phone, and compared the current information against the screenshots I took, just in case something has been replaced.
Fortunately, everything remained the same.
They also returned my old screen.

The old screen. Look how big of a portion it is. |
Now my phone looks good as new since my old screen had a lot of scratches on the side, and that got replaced too so it feels like I got a new phone. 😆
Because of this experience, I kind of got traumatized of the software updates.
But since this has 90 days warranty (as long as the screen is not broken or anything), I surely will update the software, in case a line will appear again.
I also started getting conscious when my phone gets hot, because I read somewhere that the temperature the phone gets while updating might have caused the lines to appear.
So I make sure to stop whatever I'm doing whenever I feel that my phone is getting too hot.
I also recently got my first software update after the repair, and I made sure to take a video of it, just in case a line appears after.
Thankfully, there's none.
So yeah, what fixed the lines on my phone is a screen replacement for Php 16,450.
I didn't argue or whatever anymore with Samsung, and just went straight to asking I want my screen replaced and how much.
I've seen how the service center in Megamall worked when my hubby's previous phone (S21 FE) got damaged by water in 2023 even though it was claimed to be water resistant.
They inspected the phone and looked for any faults like dropping the phone, scratches, etc. just to avoid the warranty.
In the end, they didn't cover it and was asking for about P30K to fix his phone and wouldn't be able to retrieve the files, so we went to Greenhills, got it 95% fixed (can't remember which button had a problem), retrieved all the data, and we traded it to a new S22 phone at Samsung Ayala Marikina (he got it for about Php23k only during that time).
Yup, we both have S22, but he isn't keen to updating his phone's software, so I was the only one who fell victim of the software update.
