LTO Car Registration Renewal 2024

I thought it will take us the whole day for the car renewal, but surprisingly, we didn't.

The process was easy and it didn't take us too long.

So let me tell you our experience with the car registration renewal.

Hubby and I went to the LTO Binalonan, Pangasinan branch around 10-11AM on August 9 and good thing there was no long queue for the motor vehicle renewal.

We asked what was needed and this is what we were told:

1. Smoke emission test

2. Car insurance

3. Motor vehicle inspection

4. Photocopy of OR and CR

For the smoke emission test, the LTO lady gave us options as to where we can take it.

We went to one of her recommendation, the Green Nature Emission Testing Center in Urdaneta city.

There was only one truck in the queue and our car, Coco, got tested next for Php 500.

We got the result around 1PM and went back to LTO Binalonan to get a car insurance.

There was no other customer in the car insurance office, and I just told the lady that I was getting a car insurance.

I think she only asked for the Certificate of Registration so she can enter the details. Can't remember if I handed her any more documents other than that. Maybe I also handed her the smoke emission test and the old OR since I think everything was stapled together.

No other questions asked about what coverage am I getting. She just started typing with the details.

For the car insurance, we paid Php 1,100.

Next was the motor vehicle inspection.

There was also no queue, so Coco got checked immediately and passed. No payment here kasi kasama na raw sa babayaran namin sa LTO office.

We submitted the documents to the lady at the MV renewal booth and was given a number.

This is when we had to wait for our number to be called and dito kami medyo naghintay ng matagal.

Our number was called at the Cashier booth, window 4, and had to pay a total of Php 3,460.

That is because our car registration renewal was due on the second week of July, so we had incurred penalties already. 😅

Delinquent registration: Php 1,150

MVUC: Php 2,300

Legal Research Fee: Php 10

For a total of Php 3,460.

And that's it.

We were done by 2:45PM.

The total cost we paid for the car registration renewal was Php 5,060.
