Experience | After A Year of Having A Blogging Schedule

A friend of mine recently told me that she's been reading my old blog posts here as she's waiting for the video I'm still editing (for months na), a footage of that very first epic fail birthday surprise.

Lol

Then I remembered to dig up my past blog post about my announcement of my blogging schedule (you'll know the reason why as you read on).

It was around this time last year when I created my resolution to make Friday as my blogging schedule, and posts being published at exactly 12 noon.

Actually, it was the 6th of October last year when I did that! Turning one year tomorrow!

This is the post I am talking about: Announcement | Blogging Schedule: A Resolution To Make

I said there before that the Number 1 key that I have read in successful blogging is consistency that's why I decided to post every Friday and be consistent with it.

Although I cannot say that my blog is now successful, did it make a difference after a year?
The answer is a very big YES!

Before I created my schedule, my blog views was nearly barren.

I'm thinking like, "Aba! May naligaw sa blog ko!"

Sometimes there's 3 views or 5, sometimes nothing at all.

When I registered my own domain name (hatputito.com) around February last year, I had the motivation to post more para masulit ang binayad ko.

The page views slowly increased until it became consistent when I made my blogging schedule.

You can see below the all time monthly chart of my blog's page views:

This is per month.

Dramatic increase isn't it?

I did not expect it would turn out like that as well.

All I did was to apply what I learned from reading How-to articles and what-knot.

I learned to be consistent. So I post every week. (It depends on how consistent you want to be.)

I learned that one should post relevant content. I don't know how relevant my contents are, but I share my experiences that I believe would help others who might face the same situation I was in.

So far, that's all that I have applied here and it kind of worked.

It is kind of amazing to see that a lot of people are reading my posts, but it is kind of scary too thinking that I might be judged or something sa mga pinagsasasabi ko sa posts ko.

But I don't want that fear to limit me. Yes, may fear, but I still choose to write in my own style and words, with caution. Lol

Having a schedule can be a pressure sometimes.

Like what should I post this Friday? What should I post next Friday? What should I post next next Friday?

But you know what?

Idea will come out naturally.

Just like this post. This idea came to me when my friend brought up about reading past blogs and so I did too and been able to make this.

And it also made me realize how my blog has improved, even a little, in a span of one year.

Maybe out of the posts I published since I started this schedule, there's only two (2) posts with just pure excuses when I could not share anything meaningful to you guys. 😆

But that's life.

Eh walang ma-i-share eh.

Wehehe :P

So yeah. That's the report or feedback I can give to you so far after a year of incorporating a schedule in making blog posts.

So yun. You can try having a schedule as well. 😉
