Experience | Treasure Mountain

Another planned trip that we're able to finally cross out from our getaway list is our Treasure Mountain glamping experience. 😃

Marami rin itong pinagdaanan bago natuloy, and only the three of us (Jussel and Diane) ang nakapunta.

With regards to transportation, we followed this route:
  • From McDonald's Marcos H-way to Cogeo Gate 2:     Php 16/each
  • From Cogeo Gate 2 to Sitio Maysawa                                  48/each
  • From Sitio Maysawa to Treasure Mountain                        200/all
We rode the jeepney bound to Cogeo at around 4:30 PM on 23 February and arrived at Gate 2 past 5:00 PM.

We walked forward to look for the jeepneys bound to Sampaloc, Tanay.

😒 Ang offer nila is P400 (it's a no-no for us).

As Jussel's travelled here before, we decided to wait for the next jeep and we're able to depart at quarter to 6:00 PM. (Oh ano kuya? 7:30 PM pala ha?)

Inabot na kami ng dilim sa daan. As in madilim. No streetlights.

Nakababa kami at 07:07 PM.

Then we rode the tricycle bound to Treasure Mountain. He offered us na pumunta na lang doon sa bagong bukas daw kung saan nagshoot(?) ang 'Ang Probinsiyano', (please correct me if I'm wrong with this) instead of going to Treasure Mountain. Mas maganda raw ang view doon at marami raw nagpalipat doon from Treasure Mountain. Magkalapit lang din daw ang mga ito.

We thought though, "Kung marami nang nagpalipat doon, edi mas mabuti. Edi ibig sabihin nandoon ang marami at konti na lang sa Treasure Mountain, which is favorable to us too."

Nagpatuloy pa rin kami sa Treasure Mountain.

We felt more secure with the place nang may nadaanan kaming (how should I call it?) security checkpoint (?). They checked if we had reservation sa Treasure Mountain. I showed them my exchange of text messages with Treasure Mountain's contact number 0917 946 1200 the day before as I inquired about the process.

We arrived at 7:17 PM.

Entrance fee is Php 200 each plus a tent pitching fee of Php 300 as we brought our own tent (kasya naman kaming tatlo. lol)

Tatatakan din after magbayad.

Yup, that's me.

Pero okay lang. Kahit saan niyo kami ilagay, mangingibabaw pa rin kami. 😝

Kahit sa tent, Pabeeda pa rin. We used Jussel's Fairy lights for illumination. And we borrowed
scotch tape from the management to attach it.

To be able pack light, we only brought snacks so we tried the restaurant inside Treasure Mountain for dinner.

They offer Filipino food and there's alcoholic beverages too, just expect it to be a little pricey than the store-bought ones.

(I thought I was able to take photo of their menu but turns out it was just my imagination.)

But we have photos of ourselves while waiting for our orders. 😜

As for our meal, we ordered Tinolang Manok Php 290, two (2) rice Php 30/each, and 1L bottled water Php 35 for a total of Php 385 which the three of us shared.

Ganito kalaki yung Tinolang Manok, guys:

Kakaiba siya sa panlasa namin. Maybe because they used pechay instead of the usual malunggay or sili leaves, but it's perfect for the cold weather.

Here's the restaurant's operating hours:

The restroom is clean and well-maintained.

Lol
And there's a wash area.

After we washed up, we had a little stargazing moment in the night.

The sky's so clear and the surrounding's so dark you can see a lot of stars.

As campers begin to sleep, the staffs turned off the generator at around 12mn, which means you'll need to use flashlight kung maglalakad lakad ka, kahit sa restroom.

And if you're a person who can't sleep with noise, better bring an earmuffs or whatever you can put in your ear, because......because.....in our experience......nagsasagutan yung mga campers.....ng hilik. 😂 (well not all..........but.........a lot. 😂)

Medyo mabato rin yung kinalalagyan namin, so we used my sleeping bag as a cushion and shared with blankets (dahil alam niyo na, malamig).

Jussel and I went out of the tent at around quarter to 6 o'clock to check the sea of clouds. Medyo meron na rin but it is still dark. (Napagkamalan ko pa ngang ilog yun)

Day-trip tourists started coming in as well.

And as the sun rises, the sea of clouds can be seen clearer. But we call it "river of clouds" though.

My failed Time-Lapse attempt:

Although it's too late noong naglakad kami at chineck namin sa itaas (kung saan hindi na kami nakapagpitch ng tent), mas malapit pala doon ang sea of clouds!

Probably next year, we'll be coming here again, and that time, aagahan na namin, with more things to pack.
Here's the pitching site sa taas:

At ito naman kami sa baba:

We're like the outcast. Lol If you zoom in further, nandoon ang maraming tents which has the view of the sea of clouds.
At kami itong mga nasa sulok. 😂

If only we knew na doon sa lugar bago mag-Sitio Maysawa (kapag bumibiyahe from Cogeo to Sitio Maysawa) ay doon nagsasakay yung mga jeep pa-Cogeo, we would've walked there (kaso hindi kasi kami sigurado kung gaano kalayo) and may nagvolunteer na tricycle driver na isakay kami pabalik ng Cogeo same fare na binabayad daw namin sa jeep so we grabbed the offer.

If you have your own car, here's Treasure Mountains Parking Rules & Regulations:

And mukhang may narerentahan ding ATV.

And that's all for this trip.

Mga nagbababad lang sa araw.
